Description

This 2-credit course will enable you to delve deeply into the linguistic, literary, and theological world of Patristic Latin authors such as Tertullian, Jerome, and Augustine. Optional lectures and background readings will introduce the theological background for the texts. Students will translate 500-1000-word excerpts of Patristic works, some of them previously untranslated.

It takes place over the course of fifteen weeks, with one 2-hr. live online class every two weeks, and 4-5 hrs. of homework per week.
