Dr. Matthew Hoskin

Phd, university of Edinburgh

Dr Matthew Hoskin (PhD, University of Edinburgh) teaches ancient and medieval Christian history for Davenant Hall. His research focusses on manuscripts, monks, popes, canon law, and councils, which all feature in his book The Manuscripts of Leo the Great’s Letters (2022), and he blogs about the historic faith at Classically Christian. He lives on Superior’s northern shore in Thunder Bay, Ontario, with his wife and sons.

Ryan M. Hurd

Doctoral Student, Theologische Universiteit Kampen

Ryan Hurd is a systematic theologian whose area of expertise is doctrine of God, specifically the Trinity. His primary training is in the high medievals and early modern scholastics as well as the 20th century ressourcement movement. He has written a number of articles and regularly does translations of early modern theology sources; but his primary project is writing a systematics of the Trinity. He is currently a doctoral student at Theologische Universiteit Kampen.

Dr. Brad Littlejohn

PhD, University of Edinburgh

Brad Littlejohn founded the Davenant Institute in 2013, and Davenant Hall in 2019. Brad regularly teaches core modules on Natural Law and Scriptural Authority and Reformation and the Modern World, and elective classes in Reformation history and Christian ethics.

Dr. Michael Lynch

PhD, Calvin SeminarY

Dr. Michael Lynch teaches Ancient Language and Humanities at Delaware Valley Classical School in New Castle, DE. He is the author of John Davenant’s Hypothetical Universalism: A Defense of Catholic and Reformed Orthodoxy. He and his wife have five children, three girls and two boys.

Dr. Joseph Minich

PhD, The University of Texas at Dallas

Dr. Joseph Minich is a Teaching Fellow with The Davenant Institute and Editor-in-Chief of The Davenant Press. The founding editor of Ad Fontes, he is also the author of Enduring Divine Absence and a current co-host of the Pilgrim Faith podcast. His public writing can be found at The Calvinist International, Mere Orthodoxy, Modern Reformation, and the Ad Fontes blog. He lives in Garland, Texas, with his wife and four children.

Charles Carman

Charles Carman is an alumnus of The King’s College in New York City. He holds an MA in theology from New St Andrews College where he studied Latin, Greek, and Hebrew, and is writing his dissertation at The Catholic University of America on the Syriac theologian, Narsai. He lives in DC with his lovely wife and children. 

Dr. Anthony Cirilla

Associate Professor, College of the Ozarks

Dr. Anthony Cirilla is an Associate Professor of English at College of the Ozarks. He is also associate editor of Carmina Philosophiae, the journal of the International Boethius Society. Originally from Western New York, he lives in Missouri with his wife, Camarie, who writes poetry and fairy tales. Anthony serves as an ordained deacon at St. Joseph Anglican Church in Branson.

Rev. Daniel R. Hyde

PhD, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam

Rev. Daniel R. Hyde serves as Pastor of Oceanside United Reformed Church (Carlsbad/Oceanside, California). He is the author of over 20 popular books on Reformed theology, biblical exposition, and Christian piety as well as academic work on John Owen and liturgical theology. He is also Adjunct Instructor of Ministerial Studies at Mid-America Reformed Seminary (Dyer, Indiana) and Adjunct Instructor of Systematic Theology and Missions at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary (Grand Rapids, Michigan). He is married and has four children.

Tim Jacobs

PhD Candidate, University of St. Thomas, TX

Tim Jacobs is a Lecturer in Philosophy at The Davenant Institute, and a PhD candidate in philosophy at the University of St. Thomas, TX. He also holds an MDiv and ThM from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He specializes in ancient and medieval philosophy, virtue, natural law, metaphysics, and classical logic, and has published several articles as well as contributed to Four Views on Christian Metaphysics, Jonathan Edwards Encyclopedia, and Lexham Bible Dictionary. His lifelong aim is to invest in the health of the church by reviving the unity between philosophy and theology. He lives with his wife and three kids in California. Follow him at TLJacobs.com.

Dr. Alastair Roberts

PhD, University of Durham

Dr. Alastair Roberts is a Teaching Fellow of The Theopolis Institute and lecturer for Davenant Hall, a leading evangelical blogger and writer, and one of the hosts of the Mere Fidelity podcast. His personal podcast is Alastair’s Adversaria, where, alongside topical interviews, he currently produces daily reflections upon the whole Bible. He is the author of Echoes of Exodus: Tracing Themes of Redemption Through Scripture (2018). He is married to Susannah, and they divide their time between the UK and the US.

Joshua Shaw

Joshua Shaw is currently a Davenant Fellow, but will soon begin work building out the humanities program for Anthem Classical school in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he will be living with his wife and two children. He did his B.A. at Hillsdale and M.A. at Bryn Mawr in  Classics, where he received a surprise invitation to do his PhD in Germany at Tübingen University in Antiken Kirchengeschichte. He is working to complete his dissertation on Eusebius’s Praeparation for the Gospel (to be published with Mohr Siebeck).  He writes regularly for The Regensburg Forum, an academic blog which supports irenic debate between committed Christians in the Thomistic and Reformed traditions.

Jordan Steffaniak

ThM, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary

Jordan Steffaniak is President of The London Lyceum, Editor of Hanover Press, and Research Fellow at the L. Russ Bush Center for Faith and Culture. He is a Recognized Instructor of Theology for Union Theological College and an Adjunct Professor of Philosophy at Anderson University. He is a PhD Candidate in Philosophy at the University of Birmingham (UK). He has a forthcoming book entitled Mere Classical Theism set to release from Lexham Press and has published widely in peer-reviewed journals such as International Journal of Philosophy of Religion, TheoLogica, Journal of Reformed Theology, Philosophia Christi, and Evangelical Quaterly.
